
Musa Shadeedi is an Iraqi writer and researcher who takes an Islamic, anti-colonial approach to examining sexual desire in the history and politics of West Asia. Musa has published four books: ‘The day we never had a father’ (2016), ‘Non-normative sexuality in Arabic cinema’ (2018), ‘Oum Kulthoum's sexuality’ (2019) and ‘Homosexuality in the Iraq invasion’ (2020). Musa is currently working on further books: ‘The Acthamian Desire in Islamic Judiciary‘ (about a Muslim judge born in 817 who legalised ‘sodomy’) and ‘The Albah Dictionary‘ (a collection of ancient Arabic sexual terms).
